Criminal Defense

Individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent, and to be found guilty, the crime must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Navigating the court system in a criminal case can be difficult and the consequences of criminal convictions can be severe. When the government accuses a citizen of committing a crime, you need an experienced lawyer on your side to challenge the government’s evidence, marshal defenses, and ensure that your constitutional rights are protected. An attorney can also help minimize the repercussions of a criminal charge by expertly negotiating for charges to be dismissed or reduced, and by obtaining agreements for lower sentences. LINNELL, CHOATE, & WEBBER, LLC represents individuals who are alleged to have committed a crime, and we have experience with all types of charges. If you or a loved one is being prosecuted for allegedly committing a crime, LINNELL, CHOATE, & WEBBER, LLC is here to help.

Domestic Violence Charges

The government will vigorously prosecute even minor allegations of domestic violence and will often want you convicted even when the person who was allegedly harmed wants the charges dropped. The consequences of conviction are unforgiving and can include incarceration, fines, probation, and elimination of your Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear arms. You need to have an experienced advocate who understands domestic violence law and practice on your side. If you have been accused of Assault, Terrorizing, Criminal Threatening, Stalking, Reckless Conduct, or any other domestic crime, we are here to advocate for you, challenge the government’s allegations, and minimize the potential consequences.

Operating Under the Influence (OUI)/Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Being charged with OUI can seriously disrupt your life and impact your ability to work. The government will first try to take away your driver’s license administratively through the Secretary of State and will then seek a criminal conviction that comes with harsh penalties. We will aggressively challenge the government’s evidence at every step of the process, work to get your driver’s license back as quickly as possible and will seek to minimize or eliminate some or all of consequences of being charged with OUI.
