Richard O’Brien

Richard J. O’Brien has practiced with Linnell, Choate & Webber since 1982.  His practice is focused on bankruptcy and reorganization, and on estate planning and probate matters.  In his bankruptcy practice, he has represented individuals and businesses, debtors and creditors, as well as trustees and creditors committees.  His estate planning practice includes wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health directives, and general succession planning.

Rick lives in Winthrop with his wife, Ellen, who is a hydrologist, geologist and professional engineer, and has three grown children. He and his wife are avid hikers, campers, bicyclists, nordic skiers, and general outdoor enthusiasts.  They also share a love of music and theater, having performed in the chorus of the fall musical production at the Theater at Monmouth for many years.  He also sings tenor with the Maine Music Society Chorale, although his true love is bluegrass music.
